R. Lee Ramey

R. Lee “Jake” Ramey, 89, of Findlay, peacefully passed away in the early hours of September 15, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

He was born July 17, 1935, in Worthington, Kentucky, to Floyd and Garnette (McBryer) Ramey.

Lee attended Lighthouse Community Church in Findlay. He supported the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Foundation, DAV, and In Touch Ministries. Lee enjoyed collecting eagles, belt buckles, pocketknives, and “old” country music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his grand dogs.

Lee is survived by his children, William Ramey of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Ramey, Cheryl Ramey, and Kimberly Ramey, all of Fairborn, OH, and Roy Ramey, Floyd Ramey, and Deborah Ramey Phillips, of Findlay, and Jason Ramey (Stacey Phillips) of Arcadia; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren with another due February of 2025.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Don Ramey; siblings, Frank, Johnny, Jim, Jorga, and Barbra Ramey; granddaughter, Heaven L. Ramey; and grandson, Austin J. Phillips.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Funeral services for Lee will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19 with one hour of visitation (10 – 11 a.m.) prior to the service in the funeral home. Pastor Fritz Below will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
