It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Regina Wiley, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Regina departed this life for the next on October 18, 2024, surround by her loving family.
Born November 7, 1948, in Carey to Harold and Roxie (Risner) Bowling, she spent much of her childhood on Grove Street in Carey and often shared memories of the neighborhood and the fun times she had growing up there. She attended Upper Sandusky High School where she met the love of her life, partner and best friend, her husband of 58 years, Bill Wiley. They married right after graduation in 1966 and spent the next couple of years in Kentucky and Vermont where Bill was stationed in the United States Air Force. After returning to the area, they settled in Findlay to raise their family.
Once her children were in high school, Regina enrolled in college to fulfill her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. It was challenging and at times difficult, but she was smart and determined and graduated with her degree in the summer of 1985. She spent the next 25 years as a registered nurse at Blanchard Valley Hospital, caring for and supporting the patients of Orchard Hall. She had a deep compassion for people struggling with mental illness and spent her career advocating for their care and dignity.
Regina is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; her children Traci (Rick) Beach and Troy (Dianne) Wiley; grandson, Zac Binkley; brothers, Bill (Lori) Bowling and Dave Bowling; her adoring sister, Tonia Siler; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.
There to greet her in heaven were her parents, grandparents, and brother-in-law, Terry Siler.
Regina was a writer and artist. She enjoyed great literature, old movies, home decorating and design, and spending time with her family and friends, and trips to Vegas with her husband.
A private service will be held for the family on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay, (419-422-1500). Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.huffordfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Regina’s name or to a charity of your choice.
