Rex Elwood Miller, 85, of Fostoria, passed away November 7, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born in Findlay to Alvin and Esther (Bowersox) Miller on January 22, 1939. Rex married the love of his life, Sheila (Baron) Miller on October 1, 1960. They celebrated 59 years together, before she preceded him in death in 2020.
Rex was a Van Buren High School graduate. He worked at Marathon Oil Company for many years before retiring. He was fond of volunteering at various places, including NW Ohio Railroad Preservation, Wind Beneath My Wings Raptor Education Center, Ottawa Wildlife Refuge, and Hancock County Park District. Rex was also a member of Fostoria Baptist Church and the Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his two children, Shawn (Alyssa) Miller of Fostoria, and Brent (Laurie) Miller of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Jen) Miller of Raleigh, NC, Andrew (Brittany) Miller of Durham, NC, Devin (Mary) Miller of Perrysburg, OH, and Noah Miller of Fostoria. In addition, he is survived by his two siblings, Judy (Richard) Twells of Mexico, MO, and Ned (Michelle) Miller of Ada, OH.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Esther, and his wife, Sheila.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Rex’s family.
