Ricardo Betancourt, 66, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on March 30, 1950 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Guadalupe and Juanita (Quiroga) Betancourt. On June 23, 1990 he married Donna Lazenby and she survives him in Findlay.
Ricardo proudly served his country in the US Marine from 1970 - 1973 before being honorably discharged. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service. Ricardo was a member of the DAV, Amvets, VFW, and the Moose Lodge 698 in Findlay. He discovered a passion in karaoke and loved to sing "La Bamba" and Frank Sinatra songs.
In addition to his loving wife of 26 years, Donna, Ricardo is survived by his son, Ricky Betancourt of Toledo, OH; one grandchild, Isaac Betancourt; brothers, Armando (Helen) Losoya, Sev (Katie) Losoya, Guadalupe (Lupita) Betancourt, and Dennis (Dawn) Betancourt; sisters, Gloria (Dennis) Ray, and Ellie (Dennis) O'Connor. He was preceded in death by brother, Rene Losoya; sister, Olga Losoya; and mother-in-law, Marie Lazenby.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A memorial service, at the funeral home, will be held at 4 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation with Chaplin Elizabeth Kelly officiating. The Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad will perform full military rites.
