Richard L. Schellenberg

Richard L. Schellenberg, Sr., 80, of Findlay, passed away August 12, 2025, at Franklin Medical Center, Columbus.

He was born January 12, 1945, in Piqua, Ohio, to Aldine H. and Arnetta M. (Wilson) Schellenberg. In 1964, he married Loveda M. Vining, and she preceded him in death.

Richard worked as a truck driver mechanic for many years. He worked at Lima Tank Plant before becoming a truck driver. He liked working in the garage, was interested in Harleys, and enjoyed drag racing. In his spare time, he would enjoy a day out fishing. Above all, he loved his children and enjoyed time spent with them all, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his children, Elden (Becky) Hamlin, Eldona (Deb) Robinson, Richard (Bonnie) Schellenberg, Tammy (Bill) Daniels, Sherry Markins, Lindy Hernandez, Justin Jarell, Sherry Jarell, and Tommy Jarell, many grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his aunts, Shirley Hazelton, and Barb Crotinger; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Schellenberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Aldine Schellenberg Jr. and Dale Schellenberg; sisters, Alice May Schellenberg, Joyce May Schellenberg, granddaughter, Shae Dickerson; and Marty Watson; and his ex-wife, Loveda Mae Hamlin.

Friends and family may visit from 1 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
