Robert “Bob” C. Bryan, 82, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green. He was born in Findlay, August 29, 1939, to Ralph and Ruth (Kissel) Bryan.
Bob graduated from Findlay High School in 1958 and attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in Columbus. After serving with the state patrol, he joined the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966, and continued his service with the U.S. Navy Reserves until 1968. Bob then became a delivery driver for Purolator Courier, later becoming a Rural Mail Carrier for the USPS in Fostoria.
A lifelong athlete, Bob played and coached baseball and softball, played basketball and tennis in his 60’s and bowled well into his 70’s, bowling for a Fostoria team championship in 2017. He was also an avid follower of Ohio State football as well as the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Tanya Smith of Findlay; one granddaughter, Ceilidh Smith; and one sister, Mary (Royce) VanScoit of Findlay. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sandy (Jim) Widenhofer, and Sue Eibling; and one brother, Bill Bryan.
Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Bob’s funeral service will begin at 12 noon following visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Private burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.
