Robert L. Freeman

Robert Lee Freeman, aged 86 and a resident of Findlay, passed away at The Heritage on Tuesday, January 13, 2025.

He was born October 2, 1939, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Ralph and Ruby (Lighty) Freeman. Robert married Virginia Gibson, the love of his life, in January 1956. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Robert was a painter and maintenance worker at Marathon Petroleum Company for over 20 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed playing golf and woodworking.

Those left behind to cherish Robert’s memory are his loving wife, Virginia; his children, Robert L. Jr. (Marilyn) Freeman of Lakeview, OH, James R. (Bren) Freeman of Auburn, AL, and Donald L. Freeman (Joan Golich) of Findlay; daughters, Connie I. (Terry) McGuire of Findlay, and Marsha K. (David) Barnhill of Findlay. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Tasha (Jay) Addy, Ryan (Jessica) Freeman, Jenna (Matt) Hagan, Jeffrey (Ashlee) Freeman, Bethany (Adam) McMahill, Brittany Hamlin, Tyler (Travis) Hamlin Graydon, Janelle Barnhill, Travis (Shannon) Barnhill, and Natalie Golich; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Jackson, Sloan, Carter, Pierce, Ella, Aiden, Austin, Zoe, Ava, Cora, Craven, Cameron, Kohen, Micah, Tristan, and Elaina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Freeman; and brothers, Ralph Freeman, Chuck Freeman, and Gary Freeman.

Friends and family may visit from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Robert’s funeral will begin at 1 p.m. following visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Legg officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
