Robert O. Gillett

Robert O. Gillett, 85, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born April 22, 1931 to the late Harvey G. and Ethel (Smith) Gillett. Robert married Lou Ellen Bauer and they shared 41 loving years together. Bob and his wife, Lou Ellen enjoyed collecting antiques and Fostoria Glass. He served as a docent and a board member of the Fostoria Glass Association. Bob greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a 1949 graduate of Fostoria High School and in his later years, enjoyed the "49ers" Thursday morning breakfast club. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Jeananne Gillett of Findlay, OH, Monty (Fran) Gillett of Weimer, TX, Kathy (Rick) Martin of Goldsboro, NC, Michael Geoghegan of Findlay, OH, Jennifer (Dave) Boydell of Ellwood City, PA, and Timothy (Jill) Geoghegan of Mainsville, OH. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Gillett; and sister, Phyllis Jean Gilliland. Respecting Bob's wishes, no visitation or funeral will be held. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Bob and Lou Ellen's home.
