Robert G. Hazelton

Robert G. Hazelton, 83, of Leipsic, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Ottawa, April 30, 1938, to Lawrence and Esther (Morgan) Hazelton. On November 7, 1959, Robert and Joetta (Buerschen) were married, and she survives.

Robert was a 1957 graduate of Leipsic High School. He was a proud Army veteran during Vietnam serving in Germany. He also worked at General Motor in Defiance for 30 years before retiring. Robert was a fireman who also started the Booster Club and Little League Program, coached little league football and baseball and was an avid Buckeye fan. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, attending their sports activities. Robert was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, and UAW in Leipsic.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Joetta, of 63 years; sons, James (Julie) Hazelton, and Steve (Andrea) Hazelton, both of Leipsic; four grandchildren, Jala, Lyndie, Samantha, and Aaron Hazelton. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eileen Schmidt; and three brothers, Marvin, Lawrence Jr., and Charles Hazelton.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or public services. A graveside service will be held at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
