Roger Patterson

Roger D. Patterson, 76, of Findlay, peacefully passed away July 17, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center with his loved ones at his side.

He was born in Findlay on February 19, 1949, to Charle M. and Helen (Wilson) Patterson. Roger and Dana were united in marriage in 1969. In this marriage they had three children, Anna, Brian, and Melodie.

Roger was the City of Findlay Reservoir caretaker for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting as spare time interests. In his later years, he developed an interest in go-cart racing.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dana; three children, Anna Patterson of Findlay, Brian (Jen) Patterson of Woodstock, GA., and Melodie (Shawn) Vermillion of Findlay; four grandchildren, Faith Johnson, Andrew Metzger, Alec Patterson, and Tyler Patterson; and one great-granddaughter, Charlie Parker Metzger. He is also survived by his two siblings, Gary (Theresa) Patterson of Findlay, and Pat (Alyssa) Patterson also of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Rusty, Tim, and Terry Patterson; sister, Janet Nungester; and grandsons, Derek V. Johnson, and Ethan M. Vermillion.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). A refection of Roger’s life will follow visitation at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Donna Ebanks celebrating.
