Ronald E. Sprankle

Ronald E. Sprankle, 91, of Findlay, went into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Birchaven Village. He was born in Big Run, Pennsylvania, October 30, 1930, to Leroy M. and Melzena (Henry) Sprankle. On October 30, 1954, Ronald was united in marriage to Emma R. Droll in Fostoria, Ohio.

Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in France Allied Headquarters during Korean War. After many years, he retired from Eastman Kodak where he was a film processor and foreman. Ronald was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay, Knights of Columbus in Findlay, UCOA Club, and Field & Stream Archery Club. He loved fishing and hunting, and spending time with family at his camp in Pennsylvania.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Emma; his children, Jane (Randy) Underwood of North Baltimore, Steve (Mary) Sprankle of Findlay, and Douglas (Pam) Sprankle of Valier, PA; beloved grandchildren, Emily (Levi) of Mt. Blanchard, Matt of Toledo, John (Brian) of Cincinnati, Erin (Rich) of East Amhurst, NY, Brad (Kim) of Punxsutawney, PA, and Eric (Ashley) of Rossiter, PA; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Birchaven for their love and kindness in caring for Ron Sprankle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio, with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld as celebrant. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to Mass in the church narthex. Burial will follow in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery with Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad conducting military honors. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions in Ronald’s name may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
