Ruthanna Rule

February 5, 1931 — June 29, 2019

Ruthanna (McNutt) Rule, 88, of Findlay, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Heritage. She was born on February 5, 1931 in Forest, Ohio to the late Allen and Blanche (Clinger) McNutt. Ruthanna was a 1949 graduate of Wharton High School. On Thanksgiving Day 1950 in Wharton, Ohio she married Carlton L. Rule and they have shared 68 years together. She worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company for 45 years. Ruthanna was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church for 68 years, where she served as a trustee on the Administrative Board and on the Worship Committee. She loved to volunteer and meet new people. She volunteered over 14,000 hours at Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary and Eastern Woods. Ruthanna was an election poll worker for many years and recently volunteered her time at Findlay Medical Equipment. Ruthanna and Carlton were world travelers, they visited Switzerland, Germany, France, Australia, Alaska, and Hawaii in particular. Ruthanna is survived by her husband, Carlton; grandchildren, Beth (Bernie) Shepherd, of Anderson, Indiana, and Jason Rule, of Treasure Island, Florida; three adopted grandchildren Lane (Matt Mansbach) Kuhlman of Redmond, Washington; Lauren Kuhlman of Renton, Washington and Luke Kuhlman of Findlay. a great-grand child, Eva Mae Shepherd; daughter-in-law, Diane Rule; brother, Rev. Carroll (Geneva) McNutt, of Colombia City, Indiana; and a sister, Marilyn ( Frank) Zebedis, of Anderson, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her only son, Steven; and a brother, Lowell (Dorothy) McNutt. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor's Loran Miracle and Dave Charles officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ruthanna's name may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Blanchard Valley Hospital, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
