Salvador Saldana

Salvador Saldana, 89, of Findlay, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. Catherine's Manor. He was born on April 17, 1927 in Mason City, Iowa to the late Augustine and Francisca (Alvarado) Saldana. Salvador worked for Hancock Brick & Tile Co. for many years. He also worked with his brother Marcelino in the construction business. Salvador was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, taking photos and making family movies during all occasions. Most of all, Salvador had a strong faith and loved spending time with his family. Salvador is survived by his children, Maria "Minnie" Strait, Anita Kiene, Salvador L. Saldana, and Evila Saldana all of Findlay, Julieanne Whitmore, Salvador Saldana Jr., and Victoria Echols, all of Arizona; grandchildren, Dr. Angela Courtney D.D.S., Leah (Clay) Bloyer, Tressa Hutton, Erica Saldana, and Tiara Kiene, all of Ohio, Angela Brundon, Heather Schultz, Brandon and Chaundra Saldana, and Cassandra Dohle, all of Arizona; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Deloris Pina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings. Alicia, Narcissa, and Catalina Saldana, Rachel Martinez, Jesus, Reymundo, Augustine, and Marcelino Saldana. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Parish (Bright Rd.) with Fr. Scott Woods celebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions in Salvador's name may be made to St. Michael Parish, the Alzheimer's Association NW Ohio Chapter, or Associated Charities of Findlay
