Samuel W. Smith

Samuel W. Smith, 69, of Van Buren, passed away at his residence on June 26, 2025.

He was born in Lima, OH, to Milford E. Smith Sr. and Mary E. (Giesey) Sptiler on January 25, 1956.

Samuel graduated from Van Buren Local High School. He drove truck for many years before retiring.

Samuel is survived by his two children, Samuel J. (Amber) Smith, and Sarah E. Brady; four grandchildren, C.J. Halbisen, Adriann Halbisen, Faith Smith, and Jaidyn Brady; one brother, Milford E. (Joe) Smith Jr., and one sister, Janet (Randy) Spitler Altman.

He was preceded in death by his father Milford; mother and stepfather, Mary and Douglas Spitler; and brother, Steve Spitler.

Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Interment will take place at a later date in Bechtel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services, 1800 N. Blanchard St. #120, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
