Scott J. Dysinger

Scott Joseph Dysinger passed away July 29, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born July 1, 1946, to Margaret Jean Smith Dysinger and Scott Lloyd Dysinger, was one of nine children.

He grew up alongside his siblings David, Mark, Jane Lawrence, Mary Franklin, Chris Tripodi, Jerry, Gina, and Carol Oler.

Scott was a man of many talents and interests. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era. His service took him overseas to Taiwan and Germany, where he worked maintaining aircraft. After the Air Force, he graduated from BGSU. Later in life, he worked for many years as a consulting software engineer.

His mind was endlessly curious, and he had a particular love for mathematics, science, quantum physics & mechanics, spirituality, and, of course, a good book.

Scott was also an adventurer. He earned his pilot's license and loved to fly. He was a talented photographer and enjoyed capturing the world around him.

In his 50s, he remained remarkably active, riding his bicycle and rollerblading—and was impressively graceful while doing it.

He also loved riding motorcycles with his best friend, Jeff Gunderman, sharing countless miles and memories together.

Scott was the proud Papa of three children, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Emily, and a beloved Poppie to seven grandchildren: Johnathan, Jerusha, Jacob, Allie, Athens, Atticus, and River. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Scott and Christine Crane Dysinger shared a love story that was uniquely their own. They married, divorced, and then married each other again. After the second divorce, they decided that the third time would not be the charm. Instead, they remained divorced, but kept their vows to remain best friends, love each other, and be there for one another for the rest of their lives. Despite their unorthodox relationship, their love and friendship endured until Scott's final day.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Scott Dysinger; his brother, Mark Dysinger; his nephews, Andrew Lawrence and Joshua Dysinger; and his beloved best friend, Jeff Gunderman.

Scott leaves behind his children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and many friends who loved him dearly.

He will be remembered for his brilliant and curious mind, his adventurous spirit, his humor, his kindness, and his ability to find wonder in the world around him.

A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held September 12 from noon until 4:00 p.m. at Findlay Moose Lodge #698, 1028 West Main Cross. Food and drinks will be provided. Family and friends are invited to come together, share memories, tell stories, and celebrate a life that touched so many others.

Those who would like to honor his memory by sharing a favorite story or special memory are invited to speak at the microphone during the celebration.

Scott was loved very much, and he will be deeply missed.
