Shawn "Rock Star" Thoma

Shawn Michael Thoma, aka “Rock Star,” 56, of Findlay, passed away at his residence with his loved ones by his side, on September 5, 2025. He was born in Findlay on December 31, 1968, to Robert and Maureen “Terry” (Golden) Thoma.

Shawn graduated from Findlay High School. He went on to become a salesman of cars and Harley motorcycles. He married Lisa Gary on June 8, 2013. He attended Cedar Creek Church.

Shawn was the lead vocalist and front man for many bands over the years, but most importantly, Diesel, Eden’s Crush, and Resurgence. He enjoyed working out at the YMCA and riding Harleys, but his true passion was performing music for his many fans.

Those left to cherish Shawn’s memory are his father, Robert; wife, Lisa; children, Taylor Thoma of Tampa, FL, Dominic Thoma of Cincinnati, and Haley Camden of Findlay; sisters-in-law, Valerie (Gary) Bisbee and Robin (Joseph) Frullo; nieces, Jayme Barfell and Savanna Bisbee; nephew, Tyler Bisbee; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Terry; maternal grandparents, Homer and Mary Golden; paternal grandparents, Robert and Issabelle Thoma; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Gary; nephew, Eric Kundrat; and great-nephew, Andrew Twining.

There will be a celebration of Rock Star’s life at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Shawn’s family.
