Sherry Lynn (Herring) Orwick, affectionately known to many as “MeMaw”, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 66.
Born on November 18, 1959, In Ozark, Alabama, Sherry was the daughter of Leamon Allen Herring and Annie Lucille Thomley Herring.
Sherry’s greatest joy in life was her family. She especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “MeMaw”. Whether making crafts, cheering on Alabama football, enjoying a cup of coffee, trying her luck with a scratch-off lottery ticket, or simply spending time together, she found her greatest happiness in creating memories with those she loved most. Sherry loved without condition and had a special way of making every grandchild feel treasured.
Those left behind to cherish Sherry’s memory include her husband, Greg Orwick; the father of her children, Earl Trumbo; her children, Damian (Stacy) Trumbo, Randall (Mickie) Trumbo, and Amber Smith (Derek); and her stepson, Tyler Orwick (Shelby), and stepdaughter, Jayme Appleman (Matt).
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Britney (Zak), Zach (Michelle), Layne, Kaylee (Savannah), Khari, Kinsley, Sadie, Layla, Bexley, Emma (Chad), Ethan, Elinore, Owen, Amelia, Jaxson, Griffin, Kiki, Weston, Kamdhyn, and Kaidhyn; her cherished great-granddaughter, Ambria Sage Trumbo; and Mariah, who was lovingly raised by MeMaw and PePaw.
Sherry is also survived by her siblings, Sheila (Tony) Chavis, Charlotte (Tim) Walker, David (Aleshia) Herring, and Cindy (David) Kelly, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
MeMaw will be remembered for her caring heart, her gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she shared so freely with everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. While her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so generously and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
A private celebration of Sherry’s life will be held with her immediate family, honoring the love, memories, and legacy she leaves behind. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Sherry’s family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in Sherry’s memory.
