Shirley A. Franks

Shirley A. Franks, 85, of McComb, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 3, 2020 at Fox Run Manor. Shirley was born on June 1, 1934 to the late Cloyce and Dorothy (Cramer) Altman. She married Robert “Bob” Franks on January 15, 1951. Shirley loved to read, especially her bible, and loved to spend time with her family. She watched cooking shows, and was an avid sports fan, always watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Wayne) Walter, of Rawson and Susan (Roy) Willford, of Findlay; grandchildren, Tracy (Quentin) Jones, Jeanne Franks, Holly Njie, Tonya Gallant, Angela Drew, Diane Franks, Jason (Nicci) Drew, and Kelly Walker; 22 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice( John)Smith. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Franks; a son, Michael Franks; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Miller; brothers, Max Altman and Richard Altman; and sisters, Mary Louise Arrington, Elwanda Scoby, Arlene Meyers, Martha Jean Elder, and Patty Herman.

The family would like to extend a very special Thank-you to the staff at Fox Run Manor and to Bridge Home Health and Hospice for all their care for Shirley.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from to 2-8 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to service (10-11 a.m.) on Wednesday, January 8. Funeral services will start at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in McComb Union cemetery. Memorial contributions in Shirley’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association of NW Ohio.
