Stanley R. Wilkins, 92, of Findlay, passed away at The Heritage, Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
He was born November 8, 1933, in Mingo, Ohio, to Roy Jacob and Audrey Lillian (Guthridge) Wilkins.
Stan graduated from Findlay High School and then proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service was completed, he returned to Findlay and asked Margie Lou Heistand to marry him. On June 10, 1956, at College First Church of God in Findlay, they began their lives together.
Stan worked as a glazer for PPG early on and then became a partner in Trico Glass Company, before purchasing his own company, Riverside Glass. He and Margie first ran the business out of their garage and then moved it to E. Main Cross St. Upon their retirement, it was given to their sons, Keith and Brian.
Stan shared a love of racing with his brother, Lynn, and the two enjoyed racing stock cars at Millstream Raceway in the 50s and 60s. Stan was the mechanic and Lynn was the driver. The love these brothers had for racing was passed down to their sons and grandsons. As young men, they also showed horses and ponies at the county fair. Stan, his brother Lynn, and their father worked together operating a grocery home-delivery service and also owned a moving business.
Stan was an outdoorsman , loved hunting and fishing and looking for arrowheads along the Blanchard River that ran through his property. He was a lifetime National Rifle Association (NRA) member and was a member of Amvets.
Stan and Margie enjoyed spending time at their getaway cabin in Greeneville, Michigan. They also treasured their 41 acres of land near Forest, which they enjoyed for many years.
Those left behind to cherish Stan’s memory are his sons, Keith (Peg) Wilkins, Brian (Heather) Wilkins; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren ; sister, Marcia (Harvey) Morelock; sister-in-law, Noreen Wilkins Waltz.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, his wife, Margie; and brothers, Nelson and Lynn.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at noon at Maple Grove Cemetery.
