Susan A. Gelbaugh

Susan Ann Gelbaugh, 74, of Findlay, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Birchaven Village.

She was born December 1, 1951, in Marion to the late Bobbie and Kathryn (Gosnell) Wolfinger. Sue married Jay F. Gelbaugh on June 21, 1969, and he preceded her in death.

Sue worked for Findlay Industries for 28 years and Findlay City Schools Food Service for 11 years. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters Nevada Temple, and past Grand Chief of Ohio from 2002-2003. She was also a Lady Shriner for many years.

Sue loved Findlay High School hockey and considered the team “her boys.” She was the scorekeeper for FHS hockey for over 40 years! She was an honorary letter recipient from Findlay High School for her dedication to the FHS Hockey Team. Sue received FAHA Hall of Fame and the Hancock County Sports Hall of Fame Fan in the Stands awards.

She was an avid collector of Findlay glass and salt and pepper shakers and was always considered a “good cooker.”

Sue is survived by her sons, Eric Jay (Erin) Gelbaugh and Adam Jay (Danielle) Gelbaugh, both of Findlay; grandchildren, Chloe Gelbaugh, Brooklin Gelbaugh, Aidan Eubanks, and Lucy Gelbaugh; siblings, Kirk (Barb) Wolfinger of Uniontown, Mike (Bev) Wolfinger of Elida, Vicki Sample of Findlay; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Melanie Wolfinger; and brother-in-law, Ron Sample.

Friends and family may visit from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Pythian services will be held at 6:30 p.m. after the visitation at the funeral home.
