Thelma J. Rice

Thelma Jane Rice, 90, of Findlay, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2022, at Fox Run Manor. She was born April 1, 1931, to Frank and Elizabeth (Norris) Swabado. Thelma married her husband, John W. Rice, in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Thelma loved gardening, cooking, and baking, and never turned down a good buy at garage sales. She loved telling stories about her life and growing up.

Thelma is survived by her twin sons, Gary, and Larry Rice of Findlay; daughters, Janet (O’Brien) Rice of Frankfort, MI, and Debra Rice of Findlay; 9 grandchildren, Crystal, Aleisha, John, Ryan, Dustin, Bob, Jamie, Brendon, and Samantha; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sister, Nancy Newton of Richmond, TX, and Gannett Meyers of Houston, TX. In addition to her husband and parents, Thelma was preceded in death by sons, John M Rice, and Stephen Rice at infancy; sisters, Virginia Chuich, June Samson, Doris Landon, Mary LeeChuich, Grace Swabado, Allison Swabado, and Sara Brimberry; brothers, William Swabado, and Donald Swabado; and a granddaughter, Danielle Rice.

At Thelma’s request, services will be private. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
