Walter Lauwers

Walter R. Lauwers, 73, of Mt. Cory, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Walter was born April 4, 1951, in Findlay, to Alfons and Geneva (Grismore) Lauwers. On January 31, 1972, he married Cynthia Amstutz in Monroe, Michigan.

Walter was a Findlay High School graduate and worked several places throughout his career, including Sears. He was a member of First United Brethren Church. He enjoyed Put-in-Bay, fishing, woodworking, and watching a good western or suspense show.

Those left behind to cherish Walter’s memory are his wife; his sons, Patrick and Ben Lauwers Sr.; grandchildren, Benjamin Jr., Cole, and Haylie Lauwers, Drake Gonder, and Alexis Medley; siblings, Deborah (John) Morrison, Mark (Stephanie) Lauwers, and Kenny (Sue) Lauwers.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Christopher Lauwers; his siblings, Larry Lauwers, Tom Lauwers, and Kathy Lauwers.

Friends and family may visit Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500. Walter’s funeral will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery.
