William C. Schimmel

William C. Schimmel, 87, of Findlay, entered eternal life on October 15, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born April 22, 1934 in Lima to William C. and Reva (George) Schimmel. On November 26, 1954, Bill married Carolyn (Rahe) and shared 66 years together.

Bill was a Findlay High School graduate. He worked for Marathon Oil in Transportation and Logistics for 27 years before retiring as a garage foreman. Bill enjoyed being part of the Pioneer Auto Club, Flying Circuits Model Airplane Club, and wood carving. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in Korea and Guam before being honorably discharged.

His spirit is carried by his loving wife, Carolyn; daughter, Jodi (Jon) Schimmel Heise of Columbus; and brother, John C. Schimmel of Marysville. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and son, William Scott Schimmel.

Friends and family may visit from 3 – 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Memorial services will follow at the funeral home at 5 p.m. with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. The Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will perform full military honors.
