Wilma Lauck, 78, of Findlay, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
She was born August 21, 1947, in Lima, to Ralph and Alice (Schmitz) Schroeder. Wilma married Ralph “Gene” Lauck on November 15, 1969. She graduated from Leipsic High School and retired from Marathon Oil Company where she was a secretary. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
Wilma’s favorite place to be was beside the love of her life, “Geno.” She shared his love for Lake Erie, though she happily left the fishing to him and spent her time thrift shopping and at their trailer. Together, they saw countless movies at AMC Theatre and never forgot their popcorn bucket. Whether walking through the Findlay Mall, spending time at 50 North, or enjoying card club with their lifelong friends, they cherished every opportunity to be together. Most of all, they adored their time with their children and grandchildren and were the glue that held the family together, selflessly devoting themselves to each other in a way that will be remembered and cherished for generations.
Among her many hobbies, Wilma enjoyed meeting her Marathon friends for lunch, visits and talks on the phone with her siblings, creating photo books and collages, journaling, couponing, and sewing. A gifted speller, she was proud to be a member of the Marathon Spelling Bee team. She also had a love for glamour, accessorizing and traveling, originating from her time as a stewardess for Braniff Airlines in Texas.
Those left behind to cherish Wilma’s memory are her children, Melissa (Patrick) Masterlasco, Anthony Lauck; grandchildren, Samantha (Scott) Wallace, Mitchell Rhodes, Alec (Lydia) Rhodes, Alissa (Dylan) Schimmoeller, Colton Lauck, Spencer Lauck, Anthony Masterlasco, Adrienne Masterlasco, Gianna Masterlasco; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Blakely, Archie, Casey, Arthur, Liam; siblings, Marlene Okuley, Maurice Schroeder, Mark (Julia) Schroeder, Ralph “Jack” Schroeder, and Tim Schroeder.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph “Gene”; son, Robert “Rob” Lauck; and brother, Dale Schroeder.
Through the simple joys of everyday life, Wilma created lasting memories for everyone fortunate to know her. Her love and witty spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A private celebration of Wilma’s life will be at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500).
