Carl L. Parsons left his “Earth Suit” and went home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. “Absent in the body, present with the Lord.”
Carl was born January 8, 1939, to Leah (Basinger) Diller Parsons and raised by Marjorie (sister) and Ernest Bartels, growing up with his nephew Michael Bartels.
After graduating from Findlay High School, he became a United States Marine, serving for three years.
Carl has shared sixty-three wonderful years with his wife Rosemary (Hills). They are the beloved parents of Lynne Anast (Stephen), Angela Pollack (David), and Patricia Rhodes (David); seven grandchildren, Chadwick Anast (Kathryn), Vanessa Sloman (Robert), Stephanie Horne (Nicholas), Shea Latham (Justin), Lindsey Poll (Micah), Megan and Aaron Rhodes; six great grandchildren, Audriana and Trenton Horne, Jaxson and Brynlee Sloman, Colton, and Sofia Anast; and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his brothers; Gerald Diller (Kate), Donald Diller (Joan), Winford Diller (Jean); and his sister Marjorie Bartels (Ernest).
Carl was a member of Gateway Church and Bill Glass Behind the Walls prison ministry. He was a faithful “Fisher of Men” which was a hobby and a calling. Carl enjoyed frequenting auctions, flea markets, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Carl’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 25 in the funeral home with Pastor Walt Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
