Colleen was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her husband and family on April 9, 2021. She passed away peacefully at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio. Colleen was born in Springfield, Ohio on May 21, 1932 to the late Homer and Ruth (Umbaugh) Hiatt.
Colleen is survived by her three children, Mark (Denise) McComber of Carey, Teresa (Dana) McComber of Allyn, WA, and Rebecca (Edward) Lowery of Findlay. She was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother to eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Paul; and sister, Darla.
Throughout her school years she was an active member of First Christian Church, Springfield where she was a member in the church choir. It was there that she later married the love of her life on June 24, 1950. She met Paul while he was attending Cincinnati Bible Seminary and they were blessed to spend 64 years together as husband and wife. Colleen assumed her role as a minister’s wife with pride and purpose and led the congregation with her beautiful singing voice and taught children’s bible school. Their service to God began at Elizabeth Lake Church of Christ in Pontiac, Michigan. Over the years they continued at churches in Bluffton, Beaverdam, East Liberty, Uniopolis, and Cygnet. They eventually settled down in Rawson, Ohio to raise their family.
Colleen loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
