Constance “Connie” Arnold, 84, of Findlay, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Connie was born in Lakewood, Ohio on February 28, 1938, to the late Elizabeth Gilbert Paul and Harold Maurice Paul.
Connie married Don Arnold on September 21, 1968, and Don preceded her in death in November 2006. She is survived by her four children: Michael (Sue Ellen) Arnold of Powell, Ohio, Timothy (Susan) Arnold of Aiken, South Carolina, Christopher (Kirk) Kirkland-Arnold of Austin, Texas, and Patricia Arnold of Powell, Ohio. She is also survived by her five grandsons: Zackery, Ethan, Noah, Aiden, and Aaron. Her sister Deborah Butler, London, Ontario, Canada also survives as well as one niece, Beth Butler, and two nephews, Ben Butler, and Roy Butler.
Connie graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio, in 1958, to become a Registered Nurse. She had a career spanning forty years, many of those years in hospital nursing and the last 14 years of her nursing career as Patient Care Coordinator of Bridge Hospice. Connie retired from there in 1998. The Hospice years were the most memorable of her nursing career and she impacted many people and their families, but she always said that they impacted her life in ways that were unimaginable. She always felt that it was “holy ground” when a patient died no matter what the setting.
Connie was also employed as a guest relations receptionist at Blanchard Valley Hospital for 19 years. She was a “people person”, so it was the perfect job!!
Connie was a devoted member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and served on the bereavement ministry for 20 plus years. She was a Eucharistic Minister serving at Mass and sang in the church choir. Connie was also a corresponding secretary of the Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary Board and a Hospice volunteer for many years. A card and note sender always, she touched many of her friends that way over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (main church) with Fr. Scott Woods as celebrant. A time of visitation will be held one hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to Mass in the church Narthex. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
