We mourn the loss of D. Britton Leass, 49, of Findlay, who passed away March 19, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus after a long battle with alcoholism.
Britton was born May 15, 1974, in Findlay, the son of Joe and Pam (VanWeelden) Leass. He married Melissa Marzcak. They were divorced but remained good friends.
Britton was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who showed immense love and joy towards his family and friends. He carried a heart of gold, generous in every sense of the word. His sense of humor brought light and positivity, and his wit served his stubbornness well. As we remember Britton, we celebrate a life full of love, laughs, and resilience. He was a fighter, and we will miss him dearly.
Britton was a sports enthusiast who loved Ohio State, decorating the inside and outside of his home in scarlet and gray. He grew up around horses all his life with his grandmother and was the youngest groomer of racehorses at Raceway Park. He was a soccer player and coach and collected sports cards and memorabilia.
Those left behind to cherish Britton’s memory are his parents; children, Briston and his wife, Tabi, and Darrian; granddaughter, Tynlee; siblings, Francesca, Joslyn, and Thomas; niece, Karalyn; and his beloved dog, Bru.
Britton was preceded in death by grandparents, Arthur and Frances VanWeelden, and Enos and Carolyn Leass; uncle, Dennis Van Weelden.
