David Scott Owens, 57, of Findlay, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Born September 29, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Joan B. (Niedecker) Owens. On November 28, 1993, David and Terri (Myers) were united in marriage and she survives him.
David graduated from high school and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He served in the United States Marines for eight years. Above all, he loved his family and God. David’s grandkids were the joy of his life!
David is survived by his wife Terri of 26 years; sons, Michael (Tara) Billinghurst, Alexander Owens, and Cameron Owens, all of Findlay; daughters, Lauren (Joe) Billinghurst of Metro Detroit, MI, Catherine (Garrett) Palmer of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren, Grace, Scout, Campion, Wallace, and Lyle; brothers, Kevin Owens of Florida, Todd Owens of Clawson, MI, Adam (Kristen) Owens of Missouri, and Gary (Janice) Owens; sisters, JoEllen, Tina (Pete) Gaffke, and Jennifer (Michael) Penokie. He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Major; and a brother, Steven Owens.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 12 – 2 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services for David will begin in conclusion of visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Shane Helms officiating. We kindly require all attending services to wear masks and practice social distancing.
