David Turner, Sr.

David E. Turner, Sr., age 80, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born in Fostoria, Ohio July 17, 1942, to Dale and Mary (Fiesle) Turner. He married Sharon (Helm) Turner in 1971, and she preceded him in death in 2013.

Dave retired from Hancock Area Transportation Services as a driver. He loved to do woodworking and played Santa Claus for many years because he loved the holiday. If it were up to him, Christmas would be year-round.

Dave is survived by his children, Christina Zepeda, Diana (Larry) Turner, Lisa (Earl) Sleek, David E. Turner, Jr., Jennifer (Johnny) Burdine, Brenda (Scott) Miles; along with grandchildren, Austin Turner, Jacob Sleek, Joshua Sleek, Caleb Baldridge, Madilyn Baldridge, Johnny Burdine III, Lillian Miles, Amber Miller, and Harley Jackson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Turner; siblings, Richard Turner, Betty (Robert) Nye, Barbara (William) Swinehart.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery.
