Donald Clarence Wilcox, 67, of Arlington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:25 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at Ohio State University. He was born September 29, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John D. and Shirley J. (Dowdy) Wilcox.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1971 to 1974 before being honorably discharged. Shortly after, he married Kitty JoAnn (Cook) on August 31, 1975. Don was a devoted husband, and excellent father, and a wonderful friend. He loved to fly radio control airplanes, build model cars, and in scale model railroad as well as attend dirt track races. He was also a member of the Mount Blanchard Gun Club and the Findlay Flying Circuits. Don was a tow motor driver for Budd Company for 46 years before retiring in 2019. Above all, he was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ with an amazing sense of humor and loved having cookouts and spending time with his family. (Matthew 25:21)
Don is survived by his loving wife Kitty; daughter, Korrie (Aaron) McCombs; sons, Bruce (Christina) Wilcox, and Luke Wilcox (Kimberly Green); nine grandchildren, Faith Morgan, Emma Cole, Nevaeh and Isaac Wilcox, Katie, Andrew, Ben, Makayla, and Daniel Wilcox. In addition, also surviving are his brother, Mark Wilcox; sister, Janet (Don) Tattrie; and his beloved chihuahua, Buckwheat. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may visit Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad performing full military honors. Memorial contributions in Don’s name may be made to the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad, 120 West Front St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.
