E. Jeannie (Snyder) Decker, 95, of Findlay, passed away peacefully September 8, 2022, at Manor at Greendale, Findlay. Jeannie married Merle Decker and he preceded in death.
Jeannie graduated from Findlay High School and worked at the Palm Steakhouse. Her and her late husband also ran a rubbish route for many years. She was always a hard worker, taking care of her house and her yard and helping others around her in any way that she could.
Jeannie could always be found singing, yodeling, dancing, and spending time with her family. All who knew her, loved her, and called her “Grandma”. Jeannie didn’t know a stranger. She was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan! She was a member of the Findlay Moose and D.A.V. where she could almost always be found “signing the books” and writing letters to preachers and politicians. Jeannie would give her last dollar to anyone who needed it, that’s just the kind of person she was. She also liked watching her daytime TV shows like Jerry Springer, Maury, Montel Williams, and several Court TV shows as well. She fixed the best “homemade pies” for all the family gatherings and could always be found entertaining a crowd. Jeannie will be missed by so many.
Jeannie spent the last several years of her life under the care of The Manor at Greendale (formerly St. Catherine’s) staff and Southern Care Hospice staff. The family wishes to express a heartfelt “Thank-You” for all the love and care she received.
E. Jeannie is survived by her son, Merle V. “Butch” (Julie) Decker Jr. of Findlay; grandchildren, Rance Decker, Stacy (Lisa) Decker, Selena (Jeremy) Wood, and Shannon Grindrod; 12 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Myrtle; granddaughter, Brandy Decker; and her siblings.
