George E. Hildebrand, 71, of Findlay, passed away Sunday morning, December 29, 2019 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born April 29, 1948 in Findlay to the late Henry and Maxine (Brown) Hildebrand. On October 9, 1998, George was united in marriage to Susan Hanlin, and she survives.
George worked as a Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic throughout his adult life and spent 3 years in Buffalo working in a Logging Operation. He had a passion for cars and racing that started when he was young. George loved NASCAR, football, sprint cars, golf, and working in the yard.
George leaves his loving wife of 21 years, Susan; sons, James (Rhonda) Hildebrand, John (Ashley) Hildebrand, both of Findlay; daughter, Nicole Hildebrand of Roseboro, NC; step-daughters, LuAnne (Aaron) Smith of Findlay, and Tandy Hanlin of Florida; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn (Don) Logsdon of Findlay, Mary (Dewaine) Richardson of Arlington, Martha (Bill) Depuy of Buffalo, Wyoming; brothers, Thomas (Diane) Hildebrand of White House, Ohio, and Robert (Kimberly) Hildebrand of Findlay. George was preceded in death by both parents; his older brother, Clarence P. Hildebrand; infant son, Christopher; and his step-daughter, Michelle.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 2 – 4 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Joel Johnson officiating.
