Georgia Cooper Obituary

Georgia Evelyn Cooper, 84, of North Baltimore, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2022, at Bridge Hospice (Wood County Hospital). She was born to the late Ernie and Opal (Harrison) Payne on January 24, 1938, in Glendale, California. On August 24, 1958, she married Conrad Cooper, who preceded her in death.

Georgia was a Pasadena High School, California, graduate and went on to receive a two-year diploma in Christian Education from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She worked for thirty years at Hewlett-Packard, retiring from there in 1999. She then traveled with her husband, Conrad, for two and a half years throughout America, while working for Convoy of Hope. She went back to work in Joplin, MO for the University of Missouri Hospital for thirteen years, before retiring again in 2014.

Georgia was wonderful cook who enjoyed showering people with delicious baked goods and hosting dinners with friends. She enjoyed playing the piano/ organ for church, taught piano for many years, and served in the choir, women’s ministry, and educational ministries of her church throughout the years. She truly cherished her family, and friends alike, longing to find opportunities to spend with them and create ways to show how much she valued each of them.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Deb and husband Mark Godfrey of Ridgecrest, California, son, Doug and wife Sherry Cooper of Weston, Ohio. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Christa Haefele, Ridgecrest, CA, Cassandra Bullock, Ridgecrest, CA, Lee Godfrey, Bakersfield, CA, Holly Lee, Findlay, OH, Dustin Cooper, Perrysburg, OH; and nine great-grandchildren.
