Herbert Lloyd Christman Jr., 65, of Deshler, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born May 31, 1955 in Lima to the late Herbert Sr. and Carolyn (Cole) Christman. Herbert married Roberta Dickey on September 26, 1998 and she survives him.
Herb worked for All Star plumbing as a master plumber for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved classic cars. He was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan.
Herbert is survived by his loving wife Roberta of 22 years; sons, James (Melissa) Gerdeman of Colorado, Scott (Kelly) Gerdeman of Findlay; daughters, Erin Tijerina of Leipsic, Shannon Christman of Lexington, KY, Courtney Christman of Deshler, Holly (Robert) Currie of McComb, and Cassie Boron of Portage, OH; 27 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Jack (Sue), Tom (Pat), Don (Dorothy), and Ron Christman; sisters, Cindy (Marty) Friess, Jayne (Dean) Nuveman, and Jeanne Selhorst; and a host of nieces and nephews. Herbert was preceded in death by a daughter, Lauren Christman; and grandson, Nathan Tijerina.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the James Cancer Center Hospital and staff, Blanchard Valley Hospital and Orion Cancer Center, Bridge Hospice Center, Leukemia Lymphoma Society and All-Star Plumbing and Verl Warimout for the kind and compassionate care shown to Herbert and family. Roberta would like to thank her brother and sister and Herb’s brothers and sisters for their love and support.
A public celebration of life will be held April 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Stinky’s Country Well in Gilboa, Ohio. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
