James L. Christopher, 79, of Findlay, entered eternal rest to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born May 4, 1941 in Findlay, he is the son of the late Harold G. and Bertha (Schille) Christopher. James and Alice (Thompson) were united in marriage and she survives.
James was very active within his community and church. As a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Parish he volunteered in many church activities and was a former Boy Scout Master. James was also a member of the K of C and received the St. George Award, the highest religious award in the catholic society. After 39 years of service, he retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in 2001.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Alice; their children, James M. (Pearl), and Perry D. He was blessed with five grandchildren; and 7 godchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Thomas, and Betty Gruber. James was preceded in death by a brother, Harold D. Christopher; sister, Shirley M. Sapp; and 1 brother and 2 sisters at infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Downtown Church on West Main Cross St. ( ? ) will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Memorial contributions in James name may be made to Christian Appalachian Project (https://donate.christianapp.org), City Mission of Findlay, or St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
