Jennie L. Compton, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, September 9, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born April 17, 1942, in Wauseon County to the late Marion and Bernice (Seymour) Compton. She was also preceded in death by a brother at birth, Clarence. Surviving is her brother Lester, and her caregiver and longtime friend, Diana Cobb.
Jennie retired from Whirlpool after 30 years of service. Over the years, Jennie was active in softball and especially bowling. As a member of the Women’s International Bowling Conference (WIBC), she traveled around the country with many longtime friends. She was very competitive, winning awards and trophies. Many of her friends thought of her as a headstrong individual, yet admired her for her humor, sincerity, and dedication to them.
Jennie enjoyed her time with the Wilkinson family at the equestrian farm (now owned by University of Findlay). She babysat for April and over the years, a friendship developed to where Jennie considered her the daughter she never had.
Jennie moved from Findlay to the property where she was raised by her parents. A strong friendship grew between her and neighbor Tracy and her family. Tracy was the kindhearted neighbor that was always there when Jennie needed assistance with anything!
There will be no visitation or service per Jennie’s wishes. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Jennie and her mother had been active with the Salvation Army and Jennie requested that any memorial donations be directed to that worthy organization.
To all Jennie’s surviving friends, she wanted them to know she will be there to greet them into eternal life one day!
