Jerald Allen Harmon, 80, of rural Arcadia, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born February 6, 1940 in Cygnet to the late Homer A. and Nina G. (Kagy) Harmon. On October 8, 1966, Jerald and Mary V. Sheets were united in marriage and she survives along with their four sons.
Jerald was a 1958 graduate of Arcadia High School and served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed working for Boes Quality Drainage in Arcadia. Jerald was also a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church, Washington Township Zoning Board, and Arcadia Fox Hunters.
Jerald is survived by his loving wife Mary of 53 years; sons, Christopher (Gayle) of Arlington, Derol (Jill Gillespie) of McComb, Edward (Rachelle) of Arcadia, and Douglas (Laurie Williams) of Findlay; three grandchildren, Nathaniel (Nate) Harmon of Jackson, Kinsey Harmon of Arcadia, and Raymond Harmon of Arcadia. He is also survived by two brothers, Jim Harmon of Tiffin, and Daniel (Mary Kay) Harmon of Findlay. In addition to his parents, Jerald was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Harmon.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Erma Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcadia Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran’s Memorial Squad performing full military rites. Memorial contributions in Jerald’s name may be made to Arcadia United Methodist Church, 19397 Co. Rd. 216, Arcadia, Ohio 44804 or to the Charity of the Donor’s choice.
