John Stephen Crouse, 73, of Findlay, beat his 46 year battle with Diabetes on February 14, 2020. He was born on September 30, 1946 in Kenton, Ohio to Inez (Dodge) Crouse and the late Don Briggs Crouse. John married the love of his life, Glenna (Hankins). They were blessed to share over 52 years together.
John was a graduate of Arcadia High School and Tiffin University. He was raised in the Lutheran Church and went on to teach Sunday school to young adults. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. As a member of SAC on Guam, he was a K-9 Sentry guarding B-52 Bombers. John was equally proud to serve 34 years in law enforcement, retiring in 1999 as a Detective Sergeant from the Hancock County Sheriff Department. After retirement, he worked as a Porter at Gene Stevens Honda where he made many new friends.
John is survived by his loving wife, Glenna; a devoted father to his children, Amy (Scott) King of Canal Winchester, and Jason (Jennifer) Crouse of Findlay. His pride and joy was his grandson, Hunter. He leaves behind sisters, Sharon (Gerald) Kelbley of Tiffin, Diana (Dave) Blem of Rawson. He also leaves behind brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank all of the dedicated caregivers for their guidance and commitment thru the years.
A private graveside service will be held in Knollcrest Cemetery. A Fellowship Memorial will be held at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. John became a Military history enthusiast and would like to have memorials given to the Gettysburg National Foundation, or the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA., or to the BrockStrong Foundation.
