Judy A. Groves, 76, of Findlay, passed away peacefully at home on May, 20, 2021. She was born in Findlay, Ohio on February 9, 1945 to the late William Leckey and Mary (Chapin) Leckey Pepple. Judy married Robert M. Groves, Jr. on October 11, 1964, and he survives. Together they have 4 children, Jon (Tonia) Groves, Holly Springs, NC; Todd Groves, Rawson; Amy (Mark Hardner) Groves, Arlington; Heidi (Dennis) Clark, Agawam, MA; 5 grandchildren, Kourtney (Everett) Waite, Matthew Groves, Taylor Rentz, Corrine Groves, Bryson Smith; 2 step grandchildren, Carter Clark; Chloe Clark, 1 great grandchild, Brooklyn Waite. In addition, she is survived by her brother Robert (Rennie) Pepple, nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was proceeded in death by her parents and step father Howard Pepple, and her step-siblings Richard, Paul, and Berniece.
Judy was a 1963 graduate of Liberty Benton High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Marching Band. She retired from Cooper Tire & Rubber Company after 30 years.
Judy dedicated several years to the Hancock County Gospel Pavilion and was a member of the Upper Room Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to which her grandchildren were the light of her life. Judy enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, and being with her family and friends. She was always there to listen and would help in a time of need.
Friends and family may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Bishop Terry McBeath and Pastor Ken McBeath officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10-11 a.m.) on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions in Judy’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio, Upper Room Church of God, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
