Karen Sue Salazar, 79, of Findlay, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 1, 2022, at The Heritage. She was born June 23, 1942, to Kenneth and Lavonne (Hartley) Pelton in Fostoria. On November 27, 2006, Karen married her husband, Guillermo “Willie” Salazar, and he preceded her in death.
Karen was a longtime preschool teacher at Aunt Nanny’s Preschool. A devoted animal lover, especially dogs, she often volunteered at Teddy’s Rescue in Findlay. Karen was also a member of United Brethren Church.
Karen is survived by her son, William (Jennifer) Collins Jr. of Plain City, Ohio; and daughter, Kimberly (Clifton) McCarley of Findlay; two grandchildren, Caleb and Kylei Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ronnie Hartley.
A Celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) with visitation one hour (1 – 2 p.m.) prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in Knollcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Karen’s name may be made to Teddy’s Rescue at: http://teddysrescue.org.
