Leland Wayne Waltz, age 96, of Findlay, passed away on November 6, 2023. He was born November 25, 1926, in Mt. Cory, to Levi and Ruth (Niswander) Waltz. He married Rosella Burk in 1947, and she preceded him in death. He then married Virginia Eichenlaub in 1961, and she also preceded him in death. He then married Noreen Eidt Wilkins in 2012, and she survives.
Leland was proud to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Hancock County Korean War Veterans' Association, Chapter 172. He worked as a senior technician at RCA for 35 years. Leland was very active as a member of the Masonic Orders: Findlay Blue Lodge 227 since 1955, serving as Worshipful Master; a member of Findlay Chapter 58 since 1967; Findlay Council since 1967; Findlay Commandry since 1968; Manager of the Findlay Masonic Temple Association for 31 years; Toledo Scottish Rites 32nd Degree since 1966; Findlay Order of Eastern Star since 1966; Past District Deputy of the 10th Masonic District; Past Sovereign Master Allied Masonic Degrees Blanchard Valley 221; Order of Scotland Degree; recipient of Legion of Honor International Order of DeMolay; Past President of Past District Deputy’s Association for over 20 years. Leland always treasured the special honor, as Worshipful Master in 1966, of sitting in George Washington’s chair in Alexandria, Virginia.
Those left behind to cherish Leland’s memory are his wife, Noreen and sister, Mary Alice Gauss. In addition to his parents and first two wives, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralf Waltz; sisters, Virginia Gray, Kathleen Montgomery, and Marilyn Schiedler.
