Leona Burdock

Leona Burdock, 90, formerly of Findlay, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 6:57 p.m. in Rockledge, Florida. She was born December 3, 1932, in Findlay, Ohio to the late George and Audrey (Benjamin) Fellers. Leona was preceded in death by husbands, Richard Peckham, Robert Haupert, and Bruce Burdock.

Leona was an accomplished artist and quilter. Working primarily in retail she owned The Art Corner and The Crooked Needle in Findlay. She taught many youths and adults the joys of creating both in painting and quilting. Many of her works are displayed across the US and Canada. In later years, Leona turned to knitting, sending hundreds of hats, scarves, and sweaters to the Hancock County Cancer Patient Services and around the world! She was thrilled to be able to hand deliver her works to children and adults in Kosovo.

Leona is survived by daughters, Cynthia Gangle of Micco, FL, and D Lyn (Robert) Davis of Kenton, OH; son, Mark (Bina) Peckham of Jenera, OH; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, great-granddaughter, sisters, Evelyn Langstaff, and Betty Stone.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Ben Lowell on Thursday, October 19 at 11 a.m. with viewing one hour (10-11 a.m.) prior. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Leona’s name can be made to Hancock County Cancer Patient Services or to a Charity of the donor’s choice.
