Leotus “Bud” Matthew Rucker, 81, of Findlay, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on June 13, 2020 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born on July 19, 1938 to the late Harry Matthew and Lulu Hodge Rucker. In 1959, he married Martha E. Orwick and they were divorced. He later married Dora Tennant and she preceded him in death in 2019.
Bud was a retired millwright from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company and a part time farmer. He was a member of the Findlay Moose Lodge where he had served in many roles over years of service. Bud was also a member of the Northwest Ohio Antique Machinery Association where he enjoyed collecting garden tractors and exhibiting them. His self-made barrel train gave many children a fun ride at the Steam Shows each year. Bud was a member of Powell Memorial United Methodist Church.
Bud is survived by a son, Charles (Jody) Rucker; daughters, Susan (Craig) Gottschalk and Deanna (Michael) Brown; grandsons, Joseph (Megan) Rucker, Jordan and Jack Gottschalk, Trever Brown; granddaughters, Katherine (Colten) McCullough, Nicole (Norm) Tyson, Hannah and Madison Brown. Bud also had three great-granddaughters, and three great-grandsons. He is also survived by a sister, Wanda Landon, two nieces; and two nephews.
Friends and family may visit from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A Funeral Serivce will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Hugh Bowland officiating. Interment will be private in Benton Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bud’s memory may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice, Findlay Moose Lodge #698, or Northwest Ohio Antique Machinery Association.
