Mark Young, 71, of Findlay, peacefully passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on January 14, 1951, to Paul and Margaret Young.
Mark was a graduate of Findlay High School. Upon graduation, Mark pulled off 17 years in the Army ending as a SSGT and 3 years in the Navy Reserves. In 2022, Mark retired from truck driving after a 40-year span and more than 1,000,000 miles under his belt.
In 1986 he married Kristine Hixson-Young and together they have four sons: Joshua of Lancaster Ohio; Matthew, Zachary (Alysha Deerwester-Hall), and Nicholas Young; all of Findlay; and a stepson, Damien (Iesha) Mitchell of Custer, Michigan. Mark was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his two granddaughters: Patiance Young of Mt. Vernon, Il. and Kennedy Young of Findlay. Any spare time was spent with family members, sharing stories of his sprint car racing days, helping people in need, and enjoying the freedoms he fought so hard for. Mark was also a member of Gateway Church in Findlay.
In addition to his children and grandchildren Mark is survived by his brother; Roger Young, two cousins; Eric and Cathy Harding, one niece; Crystal (Brad) Webb, one nephew; Gary (Andi) Stauffer; and his mother-in-law; Jean Borkosky.
Mark is proceeded in death by his parents, his aunt; Joan (Ron) Harding, his father-in-law; Donald Borkosky, his sister-in-law; Theresa Stauffer, and his brother-in-law; Raymond Hixson.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) with the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad conducting full military rights. Mark will later join his parents at Maple Grove Cemetery during a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
