Mary Ellen Rose Shively, 98, of Findlay, peacefully went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 4, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born in Fostoria, Ohio on December 1, 1922 to the late Joseph A. and Rose (Ludwig) Madden. On July 31, 1942, Mary Ellen married Richard T. Shively and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2006.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Fostoria High School. She retired in 1986 from Marathon Oil Company, Aviation Division with 34 years of service. She enjoyed needlework and loved playing cards with a special group of women, Linda, Louise, Pam, Jane, and Donna.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter-in-law, Vicki J. Shively; sister-in-law, Leilah Madden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard D. Shively; brothers, Joseph A. Jr., Donald L., James P., and Byron J. Madden; sisters, Teresa Rearick, Dorothy Cardwell, and Lorraine J. Rozkrut.
The family wishes to thank Bridge Hospice Care Center and Dr. Todd Leslie for the care and comfort on her last journey.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Bechtel Cemetery, Van Buren with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
