Norma Jean Dillon Barranco, 90, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Heritage Senior Living Center, Findlay. She was born March 1, 1933, in Monroe, Michigan, to William A. Dawson and Loretta H. Dawson Hutchison.
Norma married Donald E. Dillon in 1952 and they were married for 25 years. She then married Leo J. Barranco and spent the next 40 years by his side until his death in 2016.
Jean's survivors include seven children, Mike, Steve, Kelli, Lauri, Julie, Karen, and Donald; two brothers, Jim and Steve; four sisters, Linda, Nancy, Joyce, and Trish; Leo's daughters, Laura and Linda; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eddie and Larry; and sisters, Marivene, Phyllis, Carol, Barb, Janet, Diane, Marsha, and Peggy.
Norma was a secretary for U.S. Navy in Washington D.C. before she got married and moved to Findlay in the early 50's. There, she raised her family and worked in The Courier Newsroom until the late 70s when she moved to Key West, Florida, an then Baltimore, Maryland.
She loved gardening, quilting, doing puzzles, deep-se fishing, crabbing in the Chesapeake Bay, and spending time with her family. She and Leo traveled extensively throughout the USA and Canada and spent their later years cruising through the Bahamas and Caribbean.
Jeans' funeral will be at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be interred alongside her beloved husband, Leo.
