Robert “Bob” L. Hummell 84, of Findlay passed away peacefully with his wife Darlene and daughter Selena by his side on Sunday, January 17, 2021 due to complications related to Alzheimer’s. He was born on December 2, 1936 to the late Donald and Vera (Spoon) Hummell. Early in life Bob worked as an auditor for Cooper Tire and eventually retired as a realtor.
Over the years, Bob participated in the Barbershop Quartet, and participated with the Millstream singers. He enjoyed memberships in several clubs, the Findlay Moose, the American Legion, and was a lifetime member of the Findlay Elks. Bob enjoyed boating, and was a proud owner of a Lyman, and enjoyed watching Naomi and Noah fish at the lake house. Bob was good-hearted, respectful, and a gentleman. His many friends will miss his conversations, wisdom, and sage advice. He touched so many and gave so much. Bob was often seen sporting a shirt that read: “It’s a Bob thing- you wouldn’t understand”. He didn’t mind when he bestowed the nickname “Bobber”. He was an avid Ohio State and Dallas Cowboys fan, and was an honorary member of the “Round Table Crew” at the Fern, often meeting up with friends and family.
Bob is survived by his wife Darlene; son, Mark Hummell; daughter, Selena (Jeremy)Decker- Wood; grandchildren, Taylor (Patrick) Hartleib, Michael Hummell, and Naomi and Noah Wood; step-grandchildren; Melissa Brown, Christina Millwood, and Theresa Smart; a brother, Richard (Diane) Hummell; and an ex-daughter-in-law, Cathy Hummell.
