Robert L. Williams Sr., 75, of Findlay, entered eternal rest February 28, 2023, at The Heritage. He was born November 19, 1947, in Adrian, Michigan, to James E. and Betty L. (Crow) Williams. Robert married his sweetheart, Ginger Saunders in August 1970, and she survives.
Bob served as Assistant Chief, first responder, and was a volunteer fireman in Liberty Township for 40 years. He was a member of the Findlay Jaycees and Cub Scouts. Bob was a Liberty-Benton High School graduate, class of 1965, and has coached in the Liberty-Benton Midget Football program and ran the chains for Liberty-Benton football games for years. Bob was a sports fanatic. He cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and was an avid Liberty-Benton fan at heart. After 40 years, he retired from Whirlpool Corporation. Robert proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ginger; son, Robert L. (Beth) Williams Jr. of Carey; daughter, Ann M. Smith of Findlay; grandchildren, Laurel Smith (fiance`, Trevor Springer), and Katie Smith both of Bowling Green, Brayden J. Williams, and Elijah James-Robert Hale; sisters, Patti (Brad) Heldman of Mt. Cory, Barb (Rex) Bolenbaugh of Forest, and Jill (Fred) Schmidt of Bluffton. He was preceded in death by both parents, and nieces, Dolcey Benner, and Briana Schmidt.
The family has asked that all attending dress casual.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 6 with one hour of visitation (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service. Pastor Cathy Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in Benton Ridge Cemetery where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct full military rites.
