Roger Church Ruffell, 97, of Findlay, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born February 17, 1925, in Rochester, New York, to Ernest and Francis (Church) Ruffell.
Roger, an Eastman Kodak retiree after 37 years, led an active life in the Rochester, New York area and Findlay, Ohio. He was a Macedon High School graduate where he lettered in basketball, played trumpet in band, served as Class President, and was the Salutatorian of his graduating class of 1942. In addition, he graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago in 1948.
Roger worked to establish the Junior Achievement Program in Findlay and volunteered at the First Methodist Church, coordinating church services with weekly WFIN radio broadcasts.
Roger had three children with Elizabeth P. Ruffell, Carol (Michael) Ruffell Andrews, Alan R. (Janet) Ruffell, and Robert E. (Lori) Ruffell who preceded him in death. He later married Ruth Anna Russell who had two sons, David (Elaine) Russell, and Dennis (Denise) Ruffell. Roger was blessed with four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private celebration of Roger’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to Bridge Home Health and Hospice. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
